Do Not Be Afraid

2 Chronicles 20; 15-17

15 He said: "Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the LORD says to you: 'Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God's. 16 Tomorrow march down against them. They will be climbing up by the Pass of Ziz, and you will find them at the end of the gorge in the Desert of Jeruel. 17 You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the LORD will give you, O Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the LORD will be with you."

I read this and found here is a promise that you and I can hold on to when going through difficult circumstances that seem out of our control and overwhelming. There are some battles that we simply can’t fight – and shouldn’t fight in our own strength. Sometimes God tells us to take our positions, stand still and see His deliverance. Sometimes we need to take our hands off, stand back and let God fight for us. AMEN!

We should not fear what come's against us, but we need to stand firm in our faith. God knows the whole situation. Though we feel overwhelmed when we look at our circumstances, the Lord sees the whole picture and sees the way out for us. We need to let God have control and fight the battle we’re facing. He has promised that He is with us and that He will bring us through.

Deuteronomy 31:8
8 The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged."

If we are facing battles today that seem overwhelming, We need to give it over to God and let Him fight them for us. He will work it all out, and make a way where it seems there is no way.

Isaiah 43:2
2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.

It is so awesome to know that he Loves us so much, he is always there, we just need to open the door to our hearts and let him in. What an awesome God!

Let Go, Let God

Love Love Love the worship song Breathe that was playing when I was reading. I agree with this. All too often we try to "fix" things when it's not up to us, and in the process put unneeded stress upon ourselves.

The other week I was saying to my cat that "Life is soo easy for you, what do you have to do, just eat, sleep and be happy." When I said that I felt in my spirit the Lord tell me that is all I have to do also. I can have as carefree life as my cat if I choose to. My cat is content and care free because he knows I am going to take care of him and that all his needs will be met. The Lord wants to take the load while we rest assured that He's in control and our provider. We can relax. Just like you said, "Let go, let God! Amen!

It's amazing what I have learned from my kitten Raz.

Blessings, my friend,
Nicole

Our God is an Awesome God! A week ago Sunday...during service I wept before the Lord (been doing a lot of that lately) this time I was crying out to Him that I cannot do this battle...to which the Lord replied to my heart, mind and spirit...This battle is not yours....this Battle belongs to the Lord...
three days later I saw the mighty hand of the Lord in this battle...this involves more than me...and it is not over yet...but until the Lord tells me otherwise I am standing in the battle is not mine but the Lord's...
Thank you for this post...I am always amazed at how many times and how many people the Lord will speak His word...
He that hath an ear let him hear what the spirit is saying.
In His Love,
Debrah

Thank you, Sharon, for this beautiful reminder to continually give it to the Lord. He is our Warrior. He is our Defender. He is our strength. He will lead, protect, and guide.

Stand firm. Those words ring in my heart. I feel Him calling me to be quiet about a couple things on my heart...that is do NOT share them with anyone. I don't know why. I don't know if His word tells us that at times we are not to share our thoughts, desires, ideas with others close to us but I'm for some reason feeling like I need to stand quiet and not share my excitement, anxiety, desires with anyone. I felt led to share this tidbit of not sharing with you though. It's very weird. Very surreal. I'm excited to see what He does in the next several weeks with this strong desires and such.
Much love to you,
Paula

Hi Sharon,
First I want to tell you how much your comments mean to me. I do appreciate your visits to my blog-especially after looking at your very LONG list on your blogroll! WOW!
I've been reading many stories in the Old Testament about God fighting the people's battles. I wonder why we still think we have to do what only HE can do? I don't think we have changed much since those days! Not at all!
I'm so glad you posted this.
Love, Debra

Sharon,

I received your comment, and then read your blog. What a powerful message. Thank you for the prayers and encouragement.

Despite how everything seems so cloudy now, I know God has a bigger a head, it's just taking discipline of the mind and realizing I need more than ever to focus on HIM. To be still in HIM.

You're a wonderful encouragement, and great prayer warrior.

Thank you for that! It's so wonderful to have that encouragement, and know people are praying.

Hugs

A beautiful post. It's so heartwarming to know that God will fight our battles (when we allow Him to).

Please say a prayer for everyone who will be traveling to Georgia for the funeral of the twin son of my husband's niece. I don't know if you have seen any of my comments asking for prayer, but her son Ian was speeding on his way home Sunday morning. I don't know the details of the wreck, but he was thrown from the car and had severe head injuries. Our niece did not call anyone here until Tuesday morning to ask for prayer. He was on life support but his brain waves dropped before they had to make a decision to take him off the life support. He was an organ donor so they stayed at the hospital until all of that was taken care of. He was only 19 years old. They adopted the boys when they were 3 months old. They really need prayer especialy the father. He is not a believer and it's a sticky situation. We will be leaving in the morning and come back late Sunday night.
Love you and appreciate all the emails,
AliceE.

Thank you Sharon,
I really hesitated about telling you because I knew what you had been through but knew you would understand what the family is going through. He died before they had to make a decision about life support however, he was left on life support 3 days because he was an organ donor. They did not leave the hospital until yesterday.
We are leaving in a little while. We had not planned to go until tomorrow, but our oldest daughter is out there and says Leonard's niece is devastated and needs some family so we are going to be leaving soon to go to Ringgold, Ga.
Thank you for your prayers and I'm so sorry you had to hear this news at this time. I will be in prayer for you and your Mom.
Love you, AliceE.

Sharon, thanks for visiting my blog. Your post today was God speaking directly to my heart. I have been in a time of depression because of circumstances beyond my control concerning children, mama, health etc. I know that God had you comment so I would read your post today. From the bottom of my heart thank you! I'll be back!

Hi Sharon...God is so good! thank you for your comments...wonder of wonders...I am working on a newsletter for my church(this is my first attempt ever...but since they didn't have one already and I suggested this idea...and that right..it is now my baby...)also I suggested a monthly brunch/breakfast...discussing women of the bible and that's right...(this is something I do have partial experience...as far as organizing/setting up etc. a breakfast...bible discussion(not so much)(I really liked Rachel's online study and would like to have that concept for our brunch)...but I am excited to get started...and the people at this fellowship are so encouraging...I am trying very hard to not compare self with others...learn from others most definitely but I am working on avoiding comparisons.
Again thank you for your kind words and encouragement.
Be Blessed,
In His Love,
Debrah
