A Penny for your thought??

Let the first thoughts that come into your mind each day be from God's Word.

Daily Bible reading is a powerful source of spiritual strength to us Christians. Most of us eat food every day. Otherwise, our physical bodies become weak. We are not just physical beings, but spiritual as well. Jesus said, “Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God” ~Matthew 4:4~ We need daily spiritual bread also.

We should examine the Scriptures daily and receive the word with great eagerness. It should become a habit like most things we do in life. Luke refers to this as being “noble-minded” ~Acts 17:10-12~ God speaks to us as He guides us through His Word.
The apostle Peter said, “No prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation” ~2Peter 1:20~ We should not approach God’s Word seeking confirmation of our own personal desires. We should study His Word to understand what He is saying to us. All of us have been mis~understood at some time in our lives. Someone took part of what we said and changed what we meant. How much worse it is if we misunderstand what God means.

Meditation is giving time in our thought life to God’s Word. When His Word is already in our minds, the Holy Spirit can bring it to our remembrance. The apostle Paul said, “Let the Word of Christ richly live in You” ~Colossians 3:16~
This means the Word should not be a stranger, but live and be at home within us.

Thanks for posting this. God has been dealing with me concerning this subject. It is not enough for me to "eat" food prepared by the hands of others....I must dig into the preparation myself. If an adult tried to live just on milk...it would soon be over. We need the meat....I need the meat.
This is a good word!

I heard of a lady once that picked up every penny she saw on the ground because she looked at it as a personal message from God telling her to trust Him more!

Enjoyed your thoughts today!

A great post. I started reading the Bible through earlier this year. I see things that I have never seen before. It has become like reading a book with a better understanding than I've ever had.

Thanks, It's good to see you posting. I've missed you. Hope everything is going okay with you.
From my heart,

Been praying this scripture over all who are called by His Name, for an awareness of our desperate need for training in His word and for our spiritual senses to be heightened.
Hebrews 5:14 "Strong meat belongs to them that are of full age even those who, by reason of use, have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil." We will not be victorious without it

Thought I'd stop by and say hello! Your post was just what I needed today. Ever since my Daddy became sick, and even since his death, I have been finding pennies everywhere!! Daddy said they were a sign from God to be positive and trust Him every step of the way. Now, I will also think of jumping into His word every time I see a penny!
Your blog is lovely. Hopefully I can now get back on schedule and visit much more often.
Many Blessings,
Starr

Amen, sista. There is much power in our thoughts and therefore much reason to put His Word in our thoughts. The more we read His Word, the more we are filled with it and flows through our thoughts.
Love,
Paula
