Breath Of His Word

I'm always thinking about the Word of God, But something came to mind and I found this verse in 2 Timothy 3:16 Every holy Writing which comes from God is of profit for teaching, for training, for guiding, for education in righteousness

Images started coming to mind with the beautiful description Paul gives. I just pictured the fog that is created by exhaling on a cold morning. Or the thick mist that sprays from a dolphin or a whale as it surfaces for air. Or when you open the freezer and you see that cold that hits you in the face, This is breathing that creates something, exhaling that is a sign of life! Amen!!

Ezekial 37:10 And I gave the word at his orders, and breath came into them, and they came to life and got up on their feet, a very great army.

In the same way, God’s "Word" resulted from the breath of God. When God breathe's, things happen. Light appeared when before, there was only suffocating darkness.
Stars sparkled the atmosphere because of one spoken word. Life itself awoke as God’s breath filled their lungs and creation gasped for more. God breaths life.

But I usually don’t have or think about this image when I open my Bible, especially in the morning through my sleepy eyes. I yawn and read a few verses without ever considering that the words I am reading are the very breath of God. Have you?
In fact, because the Word is living, these Words are a warm breath straight from God’s mouth.

1 Peter 1:23 Because you have had a new birth, not from the seed of man, but from eternal seed, through the word of a living and unchanging God.

Life comes from His Word. Amen!! Every morning this life is freshly available for us to inhale. Our Father is breathing out Love, Hope, Truth and Grace on every page we turn to. That is why God’s Word is sooo powerful. It’s living. We hear the sounds of His breathing in every word.
He’s speaking to us!

Psalm 33:6 By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the army of heaven by the breath of his mouth.

We need to try and remember this as we open this precious Book we call the Bible. In it are the life-giving words of God speaking a Breath of fresh Air to each one of us.
We should take it seriously.

"It might just steal your breath away"

So, so true! I think I often take even having a Bible for granted! Then I think of people in countries that risk their lives to read God's Word and I feel so ashamed!

It's just like you wrote that for me Sharon. Thank you so much. I loved it. I like to sit where it is really quiet and just listen to the sound of my own breathing. Have you ever done that? It makes you think.

This post is amazing. His breath...does it take my breath away? If I am honest, it not always does. I sure want it to. I know that I can "feel" something when I open His word and read it. Thanks for this. His word is the breath of life to us! Amen!

Thank you for your awesome encouraging words on my last post. I love to learn new things, and thanks for the encouragement!
