'Whoever Finds God Finds Life!'

Daily Rules from God for 2008

1. Wake Up!! Decide to have a good day. 'Today is the day the Lord hath made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.' Psalms 118:24

2. Dress Up!! The best way to dress up is to put on a smile. A smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks. 'The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at outward appearance; but the Lord looks at the heart.' I Samuel 16:7

3. Shut Up!! Say nice things and learn to listen. God gave us two ears and one mouth, so He must have meant for us to do twice as much listening as talking. 'He who guards his lips guards his soul.' Proverbs 13:3

4. Stand Up!!... For what you believe in. Stand for something or you will fall for anything.. 'Let us not be weary in doing good; for at the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good...' Gala tians 6:9-10

5. Look Up!!... To the Lord. 'I can do everything through Christ who strengthens me.' Phillippians 4:13

6. Reach Up!!... For something higher. 'Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him, And He will direct your path.' Proverbs 3:5-6

7. Lift Up!!... Your Prayers. ' Do not worry about anything; instead PRAY ABOUT EVERYTHING.' Philippians 4:6

Sharon, what a beautiful post.
We must have a kindred spirit if we both had the same thoughts about the reading on Joanna. Honestly that is the first time I have really looked at what I was reading and actually some had thoughts about it. I have been praying to hear God's voice. I know that He has guided me through the last 8 years and I truly believe He did not leave me here on this earth without a reason. Thanks for your friendship. I feel like I have gained so many new friends. For so long I have felt I had no one. I haven't been able to drive since 2003. I've often said it's a good think I like myself because I'm by myself a lot. That's one of the reasons this Bible study has been so good for me. My husband is home more often now since he has partially retired so that helps.

Did you read Rachel's post in answer to my questions? I felt so humbled that she did that.

Please keep praying for me that I will be able to hear that still small voice in times when I need to.
Thanks for being a friend,
AliceE.

Sharon,
You are so sweet. Thanks for your kind words and for your prayers. I really do not feel worthy, but I am available and willing to be used by God in any way I can. God is never too busy to listen to each of us. If you think about it in our human bodies and minds we cannot possibly fathom this is possible, but remember, He is Omipresent, Omnipotent, and Omniscient. I have been trying to fine the scriptures to back this up but have had no luck. I know that Omipresent (I think) means He is everywhere and can hear all our prayers as though we were the only one speaking to Him. Yes, that is hard for us to understand but I do believe it is true. There's a song that says "omnipotent Father of mercy and grace". When I find it I will post it on my blog and I will continue searching the scriptures. You may know where they are already. I'm sure Rachel does and we can use her as a last resort. But yes, He hears every word we say, each one of us even though there may be thousands talking to Him at the same time.
God bless you as you continue to heal.

Sharon,
Read the following scriptures:
Jermiah 29:11-13, 32:17, 27; 33:3.
I think this sums up all three things I put in my previous post. Would love to hear your throughts on this.

Sharon,
I printed out your comments and will read them and the scriptures. I noticed that one of the scriptures about Omnipotence that you gave was one I had put in my comments also.

Our church is celebrating it's
50th year during the month of June. I went today for the first time in many, many months. The Minister of Music had a program that started from the beginning of the church using people who were actually there when it began. Some things were on video, like the ladies trio, because one of the ladies has already gone home.

He invited anyone who had sang in the choir at anytime to be a part of the program during one song. He recognized all the ministers of music and they sang the songs that were used during their time. The Men's quartet which included my husband sang, oh the memories it brought back. I truly felt I was in the presence of God and was free to worship God for the first time in a long time at the church. So many things have changed since the founding pastor resigned. He and his family have started coming back to our church.
Well, it was just a beautiful service.

I will let you know when I have finished reading your comments and the scripture references. I'm not so sure that we as humans can ever fathom the greatness of Almighty God, but farther along we will understanding why things have happened in our lives the way they have and be able to thank Him personally for taking care of us.
God be with you,
AliceE.

Sharon,
Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you regarding the scriptures you gave me. We have been gone all day.

When I started looking up the scriptures I was amazed to see that a lot of them had already been marked in my Bible. Isn't it wonderful that God knows all about us and cares what happens to us. I loved the scripture in Psalm 139:13 "For you have formed me in my inward parst; You have covered me in my mother's womb." He definitely is Almighty God. What a heritage we have.
Thanks for sharing the scriptures,
AliceE.

Sharon thanks for the encouragment, I am also encouraged by this post. Thanks for reminding me of things I can do in 08 and the scripture references. I also read your Searching for God how often we forget to invite Him in to our days even though we spend much of it searvhing for Him as we try to grow in Him. God bless

Just wanted to let you know that a new person has signed on through the Chocolate post. Her name is Sarah and she is a single mom expecting another one. She has just moved to NC from Colorado and is trying to find a place to live. She has asked for prayer. I knew you would be a good one to reach out to her.
Thanks,
AliceE.

The picture came from Wallowa Lake in Eastern OR where my husband and I went last August for our 10th anniversary. Isn't it beautiful?

Thanks for the visit.

Sharon, I started telling you about the cards but when I came back here I couldn't find my comment. I had put it on the comments about the birds. You will have to go there to get my answer. Sorry, I don't know what I was thinking or looking at. I'll go back to the comments after the bird and finish.
