Voicemail Nooooo

I had went to my bank and ordered checks and when they came I noticed they had the wrong last name on them. So I called the bank and found that I was put on HOLD.
I started thinking about how many times I put God on hold, sad. Then I am listening to a recording and it kept repeating the same-thing over and over, and then this voice mail came on, "I am sorry but our offices are now closed, please call during normal business hours." Wow, I did call during business hours. As I sat afterwards thinking about the situation, Most of us today have now learned to live with voice mail as a necessity part of our lives.
Have you ever wondered what it would be like if God decided to install voice mail?

Imagine praying and hearing the following:

Thank you for calling heaven.
For English press 1
For Spanish press 2
For all other languages, press 3

Please select one of the following options:

Press 1 for request
Press 2 for thanksgiving
Press 3 for complaints
Press 4 for all others
I am sorry, all our Angels and Saints are busy helping other
sinners right now. However, your prayer is important to us and we
will answer it in the order it was received. Please stay on the line.
If you would like to speak to:

God, press 777
Jesus, press 1
Holy spirit, press 2
To find a loved one that has been assigned to heaven press 5, then
enter his social security # followed by the pound sign.
(If you receive a negative response, please hang up and dial area
code (666)

For reservations to heaven, please enter JOHN followed by the
numbers, 3 16.

For answers to nagging questions about dinosaurs, life and other
planets, please wait until you arrive in heaven for the specifics.

Our computers show that you have already been prayed for today,
please hang up and call again tomorrow.

The office is now closed for the weekend to observe a religious
holiday.

If you are calling after hours and need emergency assistance,
please contact your local pastor.

Thank you and have a heavenly day.

I have heard this before, but after the situation of my checks it really got me thinking, so maybe the next time you get through to a voice mail, just imagine if it was God's and you got it this way. Also the next time you are on hold, hopefully you won't be on hold that long, and you won't leave God holding as well. I did get my checks taken care of the next day, and I got a re-order for free. Praise God! I pray right now that God will never put me through to his voice mail. It is says in your word Lord you will never leave me nor forsake me, and I know you will always hear my voice, hear my crys, I thank you Lord.

Praise God
Can you imagine getting a voice mail like this???

Blessings

This is a great post...So funny and so true.:)

I wanted to answer your question about Allie. She is doing the same. She is still doing well on her heart meds, but she is still limping terribly. She just keeps reinjuring her leg, because she gets so excited whenever we enter or leave the house that she just slides all over the place. Bless her heart. But we are just trying to enjoy the time that we have left with her.
Thank you for thinking of her. I really appreciate you.

God Bless,
Amy:)

Praise God we have a hot line straight to heaven. For our prayers get us to heaven and then our Faith opens the door. It is times like you experienced that are out of our control that we do get a chance to see and learn that which we need to so we gain gifts galore. I appreciate you and love your post. Thanks for sharing!! love, rilda *U*

AWESOME! That was great yet frightening to think of how things could be if God treated us as we treat Him sometimes. It's amazing how god will use everyday things to teach us such big lessons.

This is excellent!!! You have NO IDEA how often my husband and I have talked about this SAME subject almost in the same manner in which you stated.

We had to contact someone for an emergency once for something that broke down in the house that couldn't be left unattended. We contacted the emergency service which was supposed to be 7 days per week and received voice mail that said, "You've reached.... we are closed. Please call back during regular office hours". We had to call on a Sunday unfortunately but I thought to myself two things, first they advertise that they are open 7 DAYS and then secondly I heard myself say to my husband, THANK GOD HE DOESN'T TELL US TO CALL BACK DURING REGULAR BUSINESS HOURS WHEN WE PRAY ON SUNDAYS or any day! What would we do if GOD took the day off? We would be in serious trouble!

It was actually out of this thought process that I did a teaching laid upon my heart by the Lord titled: One Moment Please. It was based on how often we are so consumed with our lives that we put God on hold just as we often encounter from customer service.

As I write this the tears are flowing. Just thinking about putting God on hold hurts my heart because it's got to hurt HIS.

Your message will be a reminder to me and so many others. Bless you for being a vessel in which GOD's presence flows.

LOL ... I am so glad God doesn't put us on hold. Whew! And I hate getting in those "circles" with the numbers. It is so frustrating!

I'm so glad you visited my blog. I am going to follow you and visit often. So nice to meet you!

God bless you dear!

Sharon,
I thought I would come and visit you! Thank you for your sweet words on my blog that the Lord is allowing me to use.
I am so grateful to the Lord that He doesn't put me on voicemail! I had never thought about that before.
Voicemail is more like voicetrap!
I am glad you got your check problem worked out.

How funny, Sharon! I'd heard this long ago and had forgotten until your post. Isn't it great that the line to God is always open and He is always available for a consult? I think it is us who put Him on hold...have a wonderful 2009!

Ok this may sound silly because God already knows what I prayed before I prayed it but sometimes when I see someone who really needs a prayer I will tell God not to worry about me for a while and to concentrate on the one who needs the prayer. I hope I never get put on hold.

Praise God that He DOESN'T ever put us on hold...well He does our requests sometimes and His answer sometimes but He always answers our call. I posted on Busy Signal. I think it's on my side bar on favorites. Check it out and see if you read it. You've been following me for some time now but not sure if you read that one.

I finally posted today. I know you were asking.

I love the analogy of God's voice mail compared to what we hear on this earth.

I can't believe you received the message of calling back during hours when you did call during hours. Ugg!! I would expect that if your bank was out of state but local banks should have better customer service than to do that.
Love,
Paula

That was great!
I haven't seen that before but I have often thought about it.
I am so glad that heaven doesn't have voice mail or email.
Although it is easy to think that things can get lost in the whole process. :)

This is good...recently the Lord impressed upon me the similarity of email forwards and an impersonal relationship with Him...now that you posted about voice mail convicts me of "screening" calls...God is so good! Be Blessed my friend.

A great post Sharon. I'm so glad God doesn't put us on hold or voicemail. Like Paula say His answer may not be right away but He always hears and never forgets. The answer will come in his timing. Reminds me of the verse, "His ways are not our ways and His thoughts are not our thoughts."

I read on someone's blog that you had been sick. I wondered why you weren't blogging. I'm glad your better. I had a kidney infection before Christmas that really knocked me for a loop but once the medicine kicked in I started getting better. I'm sure God had a hand in all that also. I give Him the praise.
Blessings,
AliceE.

Amen Sis,
I am soooo glad the Lord never puts us on hold, or has a heavenly voicemail, no waiting, "Jesus on the mainline tell him what you want!!!" I love that song lol.

Buying memory is such a chore... You have to search online for prices, filter through which ones are genuine, visit a bunch of stores, compare prices, finally buy your memory, and then hope that the price doesn't drop in the next two weeks or so.

I've been done in by some ridiculous price drops in the past... especially this one time when I bought a Micro SD for my DS flashcard at what I thought was a steal, only to later see that it fell $5 in a week.
